Oh, the heat… Global Warming put into perspective.

Published by Mark Jaress under General

Oh, it’s such a hot summer. Maybe it’s a fever that Gia is developing.

You know how it is – you get an infection, you run a fever to burn it off.

If Gia can’t burn off the infection in a century or two, she’ll call her doctor, God.

And God will say “Take 2 asteroids and call me in 100 years. If it doesn’t clear up after that, I’ll arrange a nearby supernova and get you a good cleansing radiation bath. But, Gia – you have to be careful, I hope we caught this in the larval stage – you know how infectious intelligent life can be once it gets past the larval stage – don’t let it infect your family, we’ll have a helluva time clearing THAT up! Be especially careful around your daughter, Moon, you know how delicate she is, she’s so close to you.”

“Remember, don’t let this fever get out of hand, you saw what it did to your sister, Venus” God continues; “You know that once you get an intelligence infection, you’ll have to live with it for pretty much the rest of your life – but, with a good fever, get some heat into you, we can control it, kill off most of those pesky bugs, with a few exceptions of those hardy black ones who’ve adapted to the heat. Maybe we can follow the heat with a good ice bath or two to help keep those critters down.”

And Gia replies: “Aw, gee, I hope I don’t have to do that radiation bath thing again. Last time, I itched for 100 million years and all my hair fell out. I’ll definitely watch the fever and take a couple of asteroids and a good ice soak. I’ll call you in 100 years.”
