Assesment 2 weeks before the election:

A little history: Here’s how the elections stacked up since 1860 Very interesting if you look at the pattern of change. Notice how close the Gore / Bush election stacked up, with Gore commanding Popular votes while Bush got the Electoral vote.

CNN has Barack in the lead as far as Electoral votes, the only thing that really counts. With the way the Republican party is imploding these past few weeks (Palin as a choice for VP, leaning on the Ayers accusations as a central point in their campaign, Palin going on SNL, tolerating and even encouraging “Kill Obama” chants, making up stories of being beaten by Obama supporters and all the oter flailing about the Republican party is doing), I’m gonna go out on a limb (a very short, stout one) and call this one for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party. Course, with 2 weeks left, the Democratic Party can really screw the pooch here, too.

Cross your fingers, cross you toes, cross your eyes and cross your nose.

General Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama!

Seeing as how Powell was a senior adviser to George Bush and has played key roles in Republican politics, this is major!

I also want to add that many of the points Powell makes is exactly why I will be voting for Obama.

Sarah Palin on SNL

When it was first announced that Palin might go on SNL, I concluded that this would be an admission of defeat. Well, I was wrong – it’s an attempt to show her charm and get another bump in her popularity. It kinda works, but, boy, if you watch her facial expressions and body language, is she pissed at the satire!
